Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how cagd.as, run by Çağdaş Ünal, uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them. Read it together with the Privacy Policy.
In short: only the cookies needed to run the site (and the booking scheduler you use) are set automatically. Analytics cookies stay off until you allow them through the consent banner, and you can change your choice at any time.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site work, remember your choices, and let me understand how the site is used. Similar technologies such as local storage perform comparable functions; I refer to all of them as "cookies" here. Cookies may be set by this site ("first-party") or by a third-party service it uses, and may last only for your session or for a set period.
How I use cookies and your consent
When you first visit cagd.as, a banner lets you Accept all, Reject all non-essential cookies, or Manage preferences by category. Strictly necessary cookies are always active; analytics stays off until you opt in. Your choice is remembered for 6 months, after which the banner reappears (also if you clear your cookies or use a new browser or device). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
Analytics tags are loaded through Google Tag Manager with Google Consent Mode, so until you allow analytics, no Google Analytics cookies are set. The legal basis for non-essential cookies is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); explicit consent under the KVKK), which you can withdraw at any time.
Categories of cookies I use
Strictly necessary (always active)
Needed to run the site and the services you use; these do not require consent.
- cagdas_cookie_consent: remembers your cookie choices. Duration: 6 months.
- Webflow: secure website hosting and delivery. Duration: session.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: protects the forms from spam and bots; may set a short-lived security cookie. Duration: session or up to 30 minutes.
- Cal.com: on the booking page (/call), loads the scheduler so you can book a call. Because booking is the purpose of that page, it loads there without a separate opt-in and may set third-party cookies or local storage to run. Duration: varies (set by Cal.com).
I also use Altcha for spam and bot protection on forms. Altcha is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies, local storage, tracking, or fingerprinting.
Analytics (optional, consent required)
These help me understand how visitors find and use the site so I can improve it, reported in aggregate. They are set only after you allow analytics.
- _ga: Google Analytics cookie that distinguishes unique visitors. Duration: 2 years.
- _ga_5P0F9JSWL7: Google Analytics 4 cookie that maintains session state. Duration: 2 years.
Managing your cookies
- Through the banner: choose what to allow on your first visit, and reopen it any time via the "Cookie settings" footer link.
- In your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working. See aboutcookies.org for instructions.
When you withdraw consent for analytics, the site stops using those cookies and removes the first-party ones it can. Some third-party cookies are controlled by the provider, so you may also use the provider's own tools to opt out.
